My colleague wanted to eat here, he really talked this place up. I got a chicken platter, it comes with a decent size salad, he got the gyro platter. We both got rice instead of fries. And I got baklava with pistachio. So I would have given 3 stars but I did watch the owner de-escalate an unfortunate situation, very professionally, so I'll say 4. To be honest, the food was sort of "meh". It was very bland, lacked flavor. I thought it was just me, but my colleague said the same thing. I was told it's normally not like this, so maybe they were having an off day.... The baklava wasn't too sweet either, actually wasn't sweet at all. The side salad was a decent size, I was expecting a really small bowl, so that's nice. I probably won't try it again, I need flavor in my food. But again, maybe it was just an off day for them. Mad respect though to the owner, saw someone come in trying to pull the sexist/race card and the owner just calmly explained why he was asking questions a certain way and all was defused!

Love the food and the owner is always so welcoming and super nice! My whole family loves George's!! I highly recommend!

Okay WOW!! This place was incredible. The gyro was absolutely amazing. Meat was cooked to perfection, sauce was delish, pita was great. If you're looking for Greek in AZ this is a fantastic place.

The food was stellar and so was the service! The traditional gyros are the way to go if one is undecided about what to get. The small business feel was truly there from the host/server person. Could it have been bigger? Sure. However, you don't need a floor plan when the food and service speak for itself. Love the energy of this place and will definitely return when I'm in this part of Mesa.

We've lived in the area for a couple years and driven by this place a lot. It does look like it's dead looking but the reviews have brought us in. And let me tell you, they were right. The food was all good. The cashier was actually really nice, helpful and funny. He was really sweet to all everyone coming in making small talk with everyone I saw. When we showed up there was one person picking up their food in front of us but by the time we left there was 2-3 other people who placed orders and a line starting when we left. We got the gyro platters, tzatziki with pitas and baklava. The food was yummy! We loved the flavors. I love the tzatziki and want more. After we finished everything we already decided we wanted to go back another time to try more of their food! What I liked too was that the cashier was very happy to talk with everyone even getting close to closing time, a family said they would do To go so that they don't make him stay like and he was just saying oh please! If you wanna have it here go for it, it won't cause a problem for us! Can't wait to try someone of their menu!

This is the best gyro shop in Mesa. They are absolutely top notch. I really enjoy trying different things at George's gyros. They're baklava is so delicious. The police come to eat here at lunch so you know it is delicious. Plenty of room for everybody outside seating when it's not too hot and to go orders. They are very busy and they take good care of their customers. I recommend having the number one with Greek salad. Yummy

Finally made it here and we weren't disappointed. Portions are large! We had an original gyro with salad and a picado gyrwith fries. Both were spectacular. They have a lot to choose from on their menu, but being our first time here, we had to stay with OG. They even have a little bar

This is one of our favs and often return here. We love the Chicken picado. It's packed with grilled chicken, a jalapeño crème sauce and onions. A little spicy. The fries here are the best hands down. The Greek salad is awesome

All of the things! Amazing prices, clean, fast, great customer service. The gyro is AS GOOD as the ones from Astoria Queens. If you know you know. We got two of the original gyros with salads. Portions are generous. Will 100% be coming here when I want a gyro. Can't wait to try the rest of this menu. Authentic and delicious!

We have been coming to George's for years. It's in an old convenience store, and there's nothing fancy about this place. There is a small bar, but I've never actually seen anybody ordering anything from it or anyone manning the bar. Perhaps You have to ask? I've had many things here, but I almost always go back to the Greek salad with gyro meat. They're great dressing is really delicious and it's a very large salad. Of course their gyro pitas are also delicious and they are served with those kind of fat fries, smaller than steak fries and bigger than McDonald's fries. I've also had the spaghetti and meatballs - - I'm a sucker for meatballs of any kind and I like these ones, as well as the really good garlic bread. My son has had the burger, which I've tried. If I were in the mood for a burger this wouldn't be the place I'd come, but it was absolutely fine. Tip: be prepared for a crowd certain times and days. Georges is located very close to Mesa City Plaza, Mesa Police Department headquarters and the central station, along with a lot of other businesses. At noon during the week (Monday through Thursday) there can be a long line and sometimes it's difficult to find a table.
